good luck with your venture....you are going to have to try determine what your area is interested in.....the only way to find that out is to get your stuff out in front of as many people you can.....i am adding pyrography to my "line" for this years shows...google art and craft fairs for your area and see what pops up.....do what you can afford and bring as much as you can, high end or low end....bring as much as you can.....as far as pricing....thats a tough one....what's your competition going to be?? that will makes a difference.....

I've been woodburning for the last several years but have just begun to do it for a business though. Someone mentioned to me doing shows to display my work, generate clients, and sell items. I'm not really sure what would be the best way to shows. What types of products should I show, higher end priced items or lower end? What's the best way to set up my display? What types of pieces sell best?

On a different note I need help with making this a business in general. I set up a free website and created a group on facebook. Anyone have any tips on pricing my works? I guess I basically need a mentor. Would anyone like to volunteer?

I have attached some of my previous works so that you all can see what my skill level is, if that will help anyone who would like to offer any advice. Thank you very much to anyone who is willing!

Hello , just wanted you to know I use Clapham's Beeswax Salad bowl finish on my work it says it is for salad bowls and butcher blocks but what I like about it is that its not toxic gives a good finish with out detracting from your work in fact it enriches it. It is available in the UK and it is a natural product, even better alittle goes along way. Hope this helps WEnsX

Re: New WIP my largest project ever!

Here are some new updates I have finished the relief dots on the accent and did some shading on them I added some new designs to represent our four children who are our hearts. I started the wolf and instead of trying to for the lack of better words make it look real I decided to make it a tribal style so I do not know how I am going to like it like that I wanted it to have more depth and feel but with the way that this particular piece of wood is burining I would have really struggled with keeping it real (I sound so much like my teenager keeping it real who speaks that way) what I meant to say was keeping it real looking. Anyway enough of my idle chatter here are the pics I hope they turned out ok if not I will take another shot at them.
